Its a 'bindi' ...
All [well almost] Women in india wear a bindi.. ITs painted to match their dresses etc...
This fashion is making into POP scene these days. I have seen quite a few wear it.. More particularly Gwen Steafani [ can only name her cause i like ROCK ]..

The thing I find most striking is the openness and immediacy of the portrait – the strong colours shine out and the faces feel as if they are jumping out of the frame.
My only slight observation would be that the focus is a little soft on the person on the right (nearer the camera)...
Very natural and joyful expressions – you’ve captured a great mood here.

Edit: Hmmm.. now I look again it is NOT that the focus is softer at all - both are equally sharp - the lighting seems to be slightly warmer, but that could just be down to skin tones...

It kinda makes the skin color glow...

Very beautiful portrait! I love their smiles, the lighting is very good, it brings out the warmth of their skin tones! I think my only crit would be that I would like to see just a little bit more at the bottom of the image, to be able to see complete necklace of the girl on the left, for some reason it bugs me that it is cut off, eh just my preference tho I really think you have done a wonderful job on this, I am sure they love it too!

Sorry for being late!
The person on the right has this perfect smile.
The person to the left has a bit of a strange look on her face.
The light sources seems to work well here.
I think having a little more space below (especially the right person) would be advisable.
