Description

It has now become a practice of many such Ersatz(fake) sadhus who do drinks & drugs etc in the name of Lord Shiva, (the hindu god).[wiki link here ]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_Shiva]

A employee of the archaeological department who takes care of this old monument had lot of complaints against this phony priest, He even went on to say that the sadhu has done a lot of physical damage to the monument, He was also involved in some incidents while we were there like not allowing women to enter the temple, talking rudely to visitors, swearing at the archeology guy. ... And there is nothing that can be done to avoid these people !!!

Th cave temple is in remote area of Parner, Ahmednagar, INDIA.
The cave temple was built in 6th century by King Krishnadevraya, around the same era when the famous caves of ajanta[ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajanta ] & ellora[ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ellora_Caves ] were built.

Depth of field and lighting are fitting to your desription. His unkempt hair and grud across brow gives the inpression that he has been out casted by his once home and society, which could explain his humble surroundings. Nice.

Great lighting and a great portrait. The detail is excellent and I love the contrasting textures between the sharp detail of the man and the weathered smoothness of the building. The face really comes forward – it has a 3d feel.
I quite like a tighter crop from the right and top (maybe even cutting into the top of his head) but that’s just my taste today –and just an alternative option.
