Description

Please check the full version for better details of the panaroma.
Kashid beach is located in INDIA's western ghats OR Konkan region. It has golden sand.. http://wikimapia.org/409477/

I am not entirely satisfied about the result of this photo, cause i worked many shots on this location for nearly 20 mins !!

Its a panorama made up with 4 vertical shots, although i cropped some of it for the composition !!
Waited for the tide to set in !! And then chose a location with ROCKs by this beach. Used IR & F22 to slow down the shutter !! Hence the softness of the water !!!

There are 2 versions let me know which one do U find better !!

As usual be frank with ur criticism !! Helps me learn more !!

PS : Further Noise reduction according to carlos suggestion !!

The details on the land are very nice!.....the water and the beach are wonderful!.....the sky looks a little noisy.....I would clean it,but is only my personal preference.
The distributiion and balance of the gray zones is excellent!
Great work Rushi!

Enjoy this perspective as well. The gentle slope up this hill and its' sharp drop off on opposite side made for a interesting subject. Mist just above water with rocks sporadically showing up lead one to the distant shore.

Beautiful place. I like the tones and the composition.

Is there mist in the forground? it looks slightly unnatural, like it has been blurred or like too much noise reduction. Is this the softness in the water that you refer to? The water looks good further out.

workster : Yes Don U are right. It is a result of noise reduction !!! its is also result of the tide setting in & exposure of 30secs on each panorama.

Looks great Rushi. I viewed it when you first posted and was going to suggest that you remove the noise in the sky, but I was tired and went to bed. :p. I'm glad I waited to vote. Wonderful job.

I think this work is a delight of b&w photo lovers... Extra sharp on the land and soft on the water... Contrast and tones are really great too! I prefer the one you've posted! I must say this is one of my favourites b&w photos in gfx!
Top marks Rushi, and good luck for the nomination!

@ vanamont : thnx mate, but this was shot in InfraRed so color doesn't exist !! This was meant to be a pure B&W even b4 i shot it !! :)

Dakoo - I really like this image. You did very well stitching the multiple exposures. What do you use to stitch? Your composition from this vantage point is excellent. The topography is interesting and the flow of foliage over the hill keeps my eye moving. As usual, great exposure and focus. Really strong image. I prefer the one you have shown here. - jason

@ GFXartist sponsor jasonworx : For stitching i use AutoPano !!

one thing i dont like is the compo, the slightly centered spot of the big rock bothers me a bit:)

I think it's the fact that you made it from not much of a height makes it unusual in a way.
Watch out for oversharpening, I have an LCD that has image closer to CRTs than most other accessible LCDs now have, yet the halos are clearly visible around some edges, but they're not really too disturbing, just noticable.

The water is stunning, and the balance of shades works very well. The horizon seems slightly tilted (might just be me), but I'd rotate it counter-clockwise a tiny bit. Very nice composition as well.
